Food & Dining
Breakfast every morning and a two-course dinner every evening at Restaurant Fe, plus lunch out on two of the activity days.

Breakfast is the quiet part of the day. The buffet is open early enough that you can eat properly before the minibus leaves, and the timings are set around the departure rather than the other way round. Coffee, a window, and half an hour before the layers go on.

Breakfast and dinner are arranged in the same way the activities are.
Out on the snow, two of the days feed you: a hot lunch cooked over an open fire on the snowmobile and ice fishing day, and fika by the fire out with the dogs. On the other days lunch is your own - Kiruna is small and walkable, and your host will tell you where to go.

Lunch is included on the activity days
The open-fire lunch on the snowmobile and ice fishing day, and Swedish fika out with the dogs. On the other days lunch is your own, and your host will point you at the good places in Kiruna.
In the evening you come back in, get out of the outer layers, and sit down to two courses at Restaurant Fe downstairs. Nobody has to book a table, nobody has to go back out into the cold, and the conversation about the day carries straight on from the minibus to the table.

Dietary requirements are passed on before you arrive, so you are not explaining yourself at each stop.
Why the food is arranged, not left to you
Kiruna is a working mining town in the far north, not a restaurant city, and in high season the tables that exist are booked. Leaving four evenings to chance is how a good week turns into a logistics problem, so dinner is included every evening and eaten in the hotel you are already staying in.
Dietary requirements and allergies are collected in the form you receive after booking and passed to the hotel and to every supplier before you arrive. We describe the arrangement rather than the dishes: what we can promise is that you will be fed properly, on time, and that what you cannot eat is already known before you land.
Food is arranged for you in the same way the activities are. Breakfast is a buffet at the hotel every morning, served early enough to work with that day's departure time, so nobody is eating standing up or skipping it to make a minibus.
Dinner is two courses every evening at Restaurant Fe, the hotel's own restaurant, which cooks with a local focus. You eat where you sleep - no table to organise, no walk back out into the cold after a long day outdoors.
Lunch is included on two days: the open-fire lunch out on the snowmobile and ice fishing day, and fika out with the dogs on the sledding day. On the other days lunch is your own, and your host will point you at the places worth walking to in Kiruna.
Dietary requirements and allergies are collected in the form you receive after booking, and passed on to the hotel and to every supplier before you arrive, so you are not explaining yourself at each stop.

The New Year departure is different: a four-course New Year supper with a drinks pairing at a restaurant elsewhere in Kiruna takes the place of that evening's dinner at the hotel. Breakfast and the other evenings' dinners work as usual.
